Genoa G8, july 2001: one person shot, hundreds of people injured, hundreds arrested even in the hospitals, an enormous demonstration which has been controlled with violence. All is still here. The examination of what happend during the G8 days in July 2001 is now being held in the court of the Italian town.

"Three years after Genoa G8, the only big court case going on is the one seeing 25 activists accused of devastation and looting of Genoa. On june 26th 2004, the judge will decide if a new court case is to be started: this trial will see 29 police head officiers accused of the Diaz school raid on the night of july 21st, 2001..."

Quick update from on the ground in Genoa, Italy:
The police have tried to get the court case suspended on two counts.
Firstly the policeman who found the planted molotovs (petrol bombs) has been in what has been called a suspicious car crash and is in a coma (it's unclear if this is supposed to be the police officer who said he had found the two specific wine bottles on the street earlier, handed them in, but they disappeared and were 'found' inside the diaz school, or the person who confessed to planting them.

On June 26th, 2004, a trial will start against the policemen involved in raiding the Diaz school in Genoa. At the same time, there will be an anti-repression week-end in Geneva, as a hearing starts on June 28th against activists on the Aubonne bridge during the protests against the G8 summit in Evian.

Der folgende Text basiert auf einem Referat, das kurz nach den Protesten in Genua von einer Psychologin auf einer Veranstaltung in Zürich gehalten wurde. Das Skript ist von nicht psychotherapeutisch ausgebildeten Laien ausformuliert worden. Dennoch wollen wir es veröffentlichen, da es ansonsten wenig verfügbares Material für von Traumatisierung Betroffene gibt (nicht nur in Genua!).
