Notwithstanding the radical goals and objectives of the Forums... the media production is led by the same folks who always make media, who always have the channels of access and privelege.
Poverty, Race, Disability, Youth and Indigenous Scholars from POOR Magazine travel to the US Social Forum to realize a new world of media production..By Any Means Necessary

This year's World Social Forum was held in Nairobi Kenya, the first in the African continent. Many who participated in it have written their accounts of the Forum, and the significance to the movement building towards another, a better world. What seemed to be missing from the accounts I've read is that while we were in Nairobi, the US bombed the East African country Somalia in what was falsely justified as a move to eradicate Al Queda operatives in the Horn of Africa.

For the past couple months, the exact location of the G8+5 Climate Summit in Mexico was unknown to Rising Tide North America organizers. Early sources said Mexico City, but this proved impossible to confirm. The G8+5 climate meeting fled to Monterrery, hundreds of miles away from the Alternative Climate Justice Dialogue and Convergence that we initiated and organized in Mexico City. We suspect that the G8+5 meeting was moved away from Mexico's capitol in order to avoid the sting of popular dissent, not just from us climate activists but more critically from the massive movements for democracy and justice that have convulsed Mexico in recent months and converged in Mexico City.

Once you've taken part in a Bioneers Conference, everything you do, from moment to moment and from day to day, has new meaning. Instead of taking yourself and the world for granted, you begin to recognize that with every step you take, everything you eat, everywhere you go, you are making a difference.
You are awakened to the power within yourself to make things happen. Your imagination begins to work overtime.

BuildingBloc is a collective of artists dedicated to using art to explore the social inequalities in our society. Through experimentation, collaboration, and performance, we inform, provoke, and inspire ourselves and our audiences. We aim to spark dialogue, to create and sustain relationships between artists and community organizations, to support existing struggles for social justice, and to erase the boundaries between art and activism.

Following the large mobilizations in May of immigrant workers in the US, George Caffentzis gives his analysis of the complex barriers in place to arrest such forms of organisation, how these were disregarded and overcome by a new movement and what the emergence of this movement might mean for the political composition of the working class and capital in the US.

This time the Indians are occupying a new non-native subdivision on land they say is theirs in Caledonia, Ontario. A court injunction issued by a non-native judge is being defied. Citing signs of Warrior involvement or the influx of Indians from other communities, the OPP raided the occupation and arrested the occupiers "without violence." Many more Indians then barricaded Highway 6. Six Nations Band Council says the occupiers are renegades and there is no recognized land claim involved. The Haudenosaunee blockaders have allegiance only to their ancient Six Nations confederacy traditional government. They are demanding nation-to-nation discussions with the federal Crown.

Between 500,000 and 1 million people filled the streets of downtown Los Angeles, USA, on March 25th, 2006 to protest the anti-immigrant bill HR4437, which would make all 12 million undocumented people in the United States into felons as well as anyone who aids undocumented people in any way. Families, labor, civic, religious and political groups came out strong in a mostly Latino demonstration, overwhelming all the organizers' expectations. City officials are saying it is the largest demonstration they have ever seen.
