How to come to Belgrade.

Some tips when you take the train.
Check if a railplus is available for you and check if it saves traveling costs. It gives 25% reduction (on parts) of the railwayroute. In the Netherlands it costs ? 15,- when you have a reduction card of the railways.
In some countries like Germany you save money when travelling from 2 till 5 persons. - Please make a travel appointment and buy your tickets together. This cheaper tickets (APEX 7) must be bought at least 7 days before.
When you want to have couchets (sleepingplaces) you must be early. - You cannot reserve couchets (sleepingplaces) for the way back from Serbia to home. You should have to do that in Serbia with your ticket or be happy with seats.
People with refurgee passports from the EU and a Serbian Visa should travel over Hungary to Serbia and not over Croatia.
People with refurgee passports or needing other visa should consider to take a plane, because you don't visa's through all other countries. (When necessary please consult the visa page:  http://www.pgaconference.org/location/en_visa.html.)

Useful Information for Belgrade

 http://www.pgaconference.org/location/en_localtips.html

Belgrade lies in the central European time zone CET (GMT + 1 hour).

This summer is VERY HOT, and we assume that temperatures will raise up to 40 degrees.
Therefore make sure ,that with usual camping equipment, you also bring hats, summer clothes,
sun creams, mosquito spray..whatever you need for surviving the extreme summer!

Electric Current / Water

Voltage 220 V - Frequency 50Hz
Water from taps is drinkable, but it has a horrible taste;).

Cyrilic Alphabet

In Serbia all streetnames are in Cyrilic letters, while on the maps you can buy at nearly every kiosk, they use latin. It is handy to learn the most of the symbols.
 http://www.pgaconference.org/images/serbo_croat.gif

You should keep in mind a lot of people in Serbia don't speak English, so you better have this Alphabet printed with you.
